Challenge
The General Ports Authority is going through a transformation phase, and its ambitious strategy was recently launched for ports, which requires updating and documenting policies and procedures for 32 departments, as well as launching a department for policies and procedures including its operating model.
Methodology
- 1. Establish a policies and procedures department.
- 2. Conduct a landscape assessment.
- 3. Develop a comprehensive model of policies and procedures.
- 4. Create an implementation plan for the new policies and procedures.
Conclusion
We established a depratment of policies and procedueres. Then we assessed the current status for policies and procedures for 32 departments within MAWANI. Afterwards, we conducted workshops with each department to develop their policies and procedures. As a conclusion, we created 32 policies and 32 procedures documents and we developed an implementation roadmap to ensure a successful transition.
